ASTRA has meant the world to me. Being able to be a member in an association that brings so much good to the world is really fulfilling. Seeing all the great things that we have created around the past 3 years has brought me to reflect on myself and the person I want to become in a future. Helping others is the only way to make this world better. When we help others we can create a kindness cycle and eventually every person that can will help others. We can help others become their better versions so that they can do their dreams. Not only do we help human beings but also our environment by: bringing awareness of the problems now days, finding ways to help and putting them in action. In my last highschool year I was able to get two positions in the club. Which are: communications committee and photographer. In a future I would love to be able to help others throughout my job. Since I was little I have had a passion for math so I decided to study engineering. I applied at the University of Puerto Rico in Mayagüez and got accepted in electrical engineering. There I’m gonna work as hard as I can to be able to achieve a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering. I’m really grateful for winning this scholarship and hope that many others like me get to do this scholarship in a future. Thank you for helping me become closer to achieving my dreams.

Having a chance to be a member of ASTRA has been more than an experience. It has been a great lesson in my life. I have learned some great values that make me who I am today. I am the president of our ASTRA club in San Sebastián. Throughout the years I learned to become a great leader with my wonderful team. Helping and caring for our community is a teamwork in which everyone helps each other. I was accepted to study architecture in “Universidad Politécnica de Puerto Rico”. I am so grateful for the opportunity that I have been given. Winning this scholarship has opened my eyes to believe in myself. I am truly honored that I had the chance to change some lives for the better. Thank you.

This year I have served the Roseburg ASTRA Club as President, and it has definitely helped in multiple aspects. This position challenged me to use and develop characteristics of leadership such as dedication, responsibility, communication, passion, accepting criticism, time management, and more. While in this position I have also been granted to opportunity to inspire other students to give back and be involved in our wonderful community. Next year, I plan to study biology with a focus on Veterinary Medicine while also competing on the gymnastics team. I feel very grateful and blessed to be a recipient of this scholarship! – Malia

Being a part of ASTRA has shown me a new world of possibilities to make the world a better place. Not only has it given me countless opportunities to leave a positive impact in my community, but it has taught me the importance of service, training, and responsibility; only three of the five pillars of ASTRA. Currently, I am president of Moberly, MO ASTRA and this position has taught me essential leadership skills that I will carry with me for the rest of my life. Next fall, I am attending University to earn a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering. -Madison

Being a part of ASTRA has been monumental in molding the way I serve others. It has allowed me to see the beauty in service and grow in my passion for taking initiative in creating projects that can foster a stronger, loving community. My most recent position has been President of ASTRA- San Antonio, in which I have worked alongside amazing and hardworking officers who have the same desire to faithfully serve others. I am a current sophomore [, and] I study Biology on the pre-dental track. -Sarah

Being a member of ASTRA has helped me to build countless friendships and a love of service. I was most recently the Programs Chair, and I have also been Treasurer and Secretary. I plan to study psychology or elementary education in the fall. My current plan is to become an elementary school counselor. Thank you!
